Shuyi Cao (b. 1990 Guangzhou, China)

Cao Shuyi (born in 1990，living and working in New York, USA) received a bachelor’s degree in law from Fudan University in 2013, a master’s degree in management from Fudan University in 2016, and a master’s degree in fine arts from Parsons School of Design in 2018. Through speculative archaeology and ecological science fiction, Cao explores the alchemy of creation and knowledge, and the pluralistic relationship between technology, mythology and cosmology. Her multi-media installations combine inorganic and organic materials, natural and artificial processes, and combine digital technology, video and sound with handmade sculptures to embody the heterogeneous recombination of material temporality.
