Guo Yaguan

Guo Yaguan, born in 1990, graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) as both an undergraduate and a graduate student, and now teaches at the Oil Painting Department of the CAFA. Guo Yaguan’s works focus on the reconstruction of “field” and “ritual”. His works stimulate the viewer’s inherent sensory experience with a visual effect that strongly clashes with reality, thus transcending human self-consciousness. Sacred and absurd symbols are generated in Guo’s works to respond to the frequency of each energy body in the field, sublimating a set of ritualistic logic system in all the fragments and ruins of reality, and entering a potential existence through the habitual reality, thus constituting a multidimensional crossroads.

Both the undergraduate and master’s degrees were completed at Studio Four, Department of Oil Painting, Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Currently teaching at the Department of Oil Painting, Central Academy of Fine Arts.
