Wang Wenting
Wang Wenting (b. 1985) was born near the Miaowan archaeological site in Luoyang, Henan—a region at the heart of the Yangshao and Erlitou cultural systems. Growing up amid the juxtaposition of ancient cultural remains and modern industry, she developed an early sensitivity to prehistoric artifacts and stratified earth layers, which informed her initial understanding of materiality and historical depth. Her simultaneous upbringing around metal-casting factories introduced a distinctly modern set of experiences: the intensity of fire, the multiplicity of metallic properties, and the rhythmic logic of industrial structures.
