The exhibition “Light Profoundness: The Worldlet of East Asian Artists” will present the small scale works by different artists from China, Japan and Korea. In juxtaposition to the electrifying larger scale art works, these smaller works allow for a greater ability to reflect on a different side of the artist-one that is both more authentic and exquisite. Audiences can also appreciate the greatness of the works through the exquisitely subtle details. Moreover, China, Japan and Korea, being the most crucial composition in the Eastern Asia, share a relatively remarkable similarity of aesthetics in culture, tradition as well as contemporary art creation. According to the《The Doctrine of the Mean》, “…seeking to carry it out to its breadth and greatness, so as to omit none of the more exquisite and minute points.” Therefore, this exhibition is expected to demonstrate not only the specialities of artists’ subtile details but also the abundance of the eastern aesthetics system.
