Zhou Li

Zhou Li’s lines are self-conscious and draw on traditional Chinese art and aesthetics for transformative resources. It is worth noting that
is that although the linear style is one of the fundamental characteristics of Chinese art, traditional calligraphy and painting theory does not discuss line, but only
“The use of the brush”. The expressive free linearity seen in Zhou Li’s works is in fact a reflection of the ‘use of the brush’ in Chinese painting and calligraphy. Her
lines gyrate, turn, traverse and intersect; and in the process of moving the wrist and turning the brush, they fall and rise, giving the lines a rich variety of forms
The lines are also a metaphor for multiple spaces.
